More information.

  • The Treaty of Waitangi was a written agreement made in 1840 ... After that, New Zealand became a colony of Britain and Māori ... Even though not all chiefs signed the treaty, the British
  • government decided it placed all Māori under British authority. It did not take long for conflicts to arise between Māori.
  • 5 years before the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi British resident James Busby drew up a Declaration of Independence without authorisation from his superiors. The need for the Declaration appears to have been triggered by the activities of an eccentric Frenchman, Charles de Thierry, who claimed that he would set up a “sovereign and independent state” in the Hokianga district.
  • The Declaration was signed by 34 northern chiefs. Additional signatures, including some from further south, were added over the next four years.

Under the Mountain

We have been learning how to re-write the story Under the mountains.

Under the Mountain
In this book the main People are The twins,Rick, the father and the mother

One day they were playing on the farm were  father where he had worked and the Twins  wondered off and got lost the same day the father was calling out to them with no response. The father was looking for them,so he went back to the house and Told the mother to ring the Cops.100 people ,dog and Cop were on the lookout. This lady had seen them out the window in the forest and said that their was going to be a snowstorm .She told a old man that the twins was missing so   He had went to go and look for them and He had found them in a fern bush and said ‘You’s are the Chosen ones and we are family, one day I will come back for you”.One night a policeman had crashed by the Lake and yelled  their names, they  could not hear him because they  sound asleep, warm and Cozy. The dog had sensed something and the policeman had thought he had  sensed a pig but he had  found the twins. The Lady had picked up the phone and had told the man that they had found the twins.

Under the Mountain 2.

The next day the twins had woken up and the man said. “Come on get your bags ready.”
He lifted up the suitcase and said. “Come on I’ll take your's back to your home, come on hurry jump in the truck.”
Theo  and Rachel jumped into the truck and went to the road. The truck big huge tyers and flames on the side,They went on to the other side of the lake and seen their house and jumped out and ran inside and their mum was at the door waiting for them. When they walked into the door the mother hugged them very hard. After the mother had hugged them, she told Rick to take their bags up to the bedroom.
They went to go play and it was getting dark and one of the twins had seen people sitting on the edge of where the lake was and they were  wearing dark cloths and the lake was getting dark and so were they.As soon as the last light of the sky went by  the lake looked like it was deep and secret.Rick had called out to theo and rachel to come inside because it was getting dark.

SHOULD WE HAVE SPORTS EQUIPMENT IN THE PLAYGROUND OR NOT?
By Charlee

Did you know that if we got new sports Equipment here at Tautoro School It will make Morning tea and lunch time way more fun for kids plus kids will not have to fight over who had what first.

Firstly, I think that if we got new sports equipment it will make our lunch breaks more fun and interesting how well lately people are saying they are really bored because there is nothing to do, but if we had sport equipment kids will have something to do. Added on to this, it is really fun for kids doing something.

Secondly, I believe that if we  use the equipment in the playground then we will play together. We will play together when we have something to play with and do. When we have sports stuff to play with like a rugby ball or a soccer ball we get along with each other. Getting along with each other on the park and on the fields means less bullying and fighting. Bullying and fighting over a ball or a rugby ball is wrong to do, fighting and bullying is bad. Don’t do it.

Lastly, I believe that sports stuff in the playground is cool and fun because everybody is playing with something and doing something together. Doing stuff together is more fun than bullying and fighting.

In summary, I believe that having sports stuff in the park is cool and fun. Isn’t that the kind of school you want or not? Like I said. “Should we have sports stuff in the park or not? say we should! who is with me!?”

haerea mai and look at my workkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
