Do you like doing Kapa haka? You have come to the right place..........

Kapa Haka
It was nerve racking. I really didn’t know what to expect even though this is my first time being on stage, some things are new from my old school.
Remember to smile, remember to pukana and give it your all that’s what our teachers kept on saying to us.
Just as well we had time to practice before we went up to Northland College. It was all those little details that we had to remember the poi, haka, tititorea and  how to walk back and how to walk forward. When we were about to get changed I was feeling very nervous. I didn’t know what everybody else felt but I knew that I was can’t muck this up because this was it. As we approached the stage I could hear matua Beaumen was telling the crowd about Tautoro schools story about our actions. When we got on the stage I could already see my nana, mum,my sister and my little baby sister I was smiling like I could  feel myself about to drop on my knees. As the curtains opened I could feel the excitement in the air pushing towards me. When our Kaea began our waiata everyone sounded really Nice  and slowly I could feel my nerves go away. When we started the poi ,I was the only one that was a left hand and i was the odd one out.I don’t want to do the poi any more because I am a left hand and it is hard.As we walked back Nana winny and another lady stood up and did a mihi and we sang Te po.
